  • Take your time: Choosing what to study is a big decision, and it's totally normal to feel a bit overwhelmed. Remember, this is about your future, so take your time and choose something that excites you. Don't worry about committing right away – you can explore as many courses as you want and even change your five preferences after submitting your Â鶹ԭ´´ application.

Learn about the ATAR

Wondering what the ATAR and selection ranks are all about? We've got you covered. This 2-minute video breaks it all down in plain English. Learn how your ATAR is calculated, what selection ranks actually mean and why your ATAR is just one part of your uni story. Spoiler alert: there are multiple ways to get into your dream course – your ATAR doesn't define you or limit your options.

It’s a good idea to check out – things like selection ranks, non-ATAR selection criteria and course prerequisites can make a difference. Knowing this stuff early can help you when you’re ranking your preferences and getting your Â鶹ԭ´´ application ready.

Explore different routes to uni

Worried your ATAR might not be high enough? Don't let that stop you! There are plenty of pathways to get where you want to go.

You could start with a diploma and transfer into your dream degree, apply through early offer programs that look beyond your ATAR, or explore pathways like TAFE courses or bridging programs.

Your journey might look different from your friends', and that's totally okay – what matters is that you get where you want to be. Many successful people take an unexpected route, and you can too.
